  • WHAT IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY ?

Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) or EPAT Therapy (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology), is a FDA approved, non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing and reduce pain in various conditions.

HOW IT WORKS ON THE BODY

A healthcare provider applies a specialized device that delivers high-energy sound waves to the affected area of the body. The sound waves create a mechanical force that stimulates the body’s natural healing process and can promote the formation of new blood vessels, enhance blood flow, and stimulate the growth of new tissue.

    HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

Although some patients have reported experiencing immediate pain relief, it may take up to four weeks for the pain relief to commence, with a minimum of

    • 5-6 treatments and/or

    • as ordered by MD

    IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY SAFE?

Shockwave therapy is considered to be a safe and effective treatment. Potential risks associated with shockwave therapy include temporary pain or discomfort during the treatment, redness or bruising in the treated area, swelling, and numbness or tingling.

  • AM I A CANDIDATE?

Anyone experiencing acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain, as well as pain that substantially limits mobility or reduces quality of life is a candidate for this treatment.

    ARE THE EFFECTS LONG LASTING?

Research has shown more than 80% of treated patients have reported either being completely pain-free or experiencing substantial relief from pain after completion of treatment.

    DOES MY INSURANCE COVER THIS?

Regenerative medicine is not coveredby insurance. Cost will be discussed with your provider during your office visit.
